Florida first lady Casey DeSantis announced that she met her goal of more than one million parents coming together in an effort to protect freedoms for families.

DeSantis unveiled her “Mamas for DeSantis” initiative in June as part of her husband Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R-FL) reelection campaign. She touted it as a “movement for Florida moms, grandmas, abuelas, nanas, and more to get involved” in supporting a student-first education plan.

“I am proud to announce that we have exceeded our million mama goal … as of today, we have signed up 1.1 million Mamas for DeSantis,” Florida’s first lady tweeted. “@RonDeSantisFL has held the line for us, now it’s time to show up and vote to re-elect America’s Governor!”

Gov. DeSantis praised his wife’s efforts and touted his commitment to Florida’s families.

“The First Lady has worked hard and mobilized 1.1 million moms to help keep Florida free on November 8th,” the Republican governor said in a statement. “Florida is the best place in the nation to raise a family. We stand up for children by keeping schools open, protecting our communities, preventing woke indoctrination of our kids, and protecting parents’ rights. We are providing record tax relief for families — from diapers and household items to pet food. As Governor, we will continue to deliver for Florida families.”

The “Mamas for DeSantis” initiative sought to engage with Florida’s parents directly through paid media, direct mail, digital advertising, and events across the state.

The governor’s office called it the “largest movement of parents in Florida history.”
