Bay Region Information Group women substantial school athlete of the week: Sabrina Tran, Evergreen Valley wrestling

In a shut vote, Evergreen Valley wrestler Sabrina Tran has been named the Bay Place News Group’s superior school girls athlete of the 7 days for Feb. 14-20.

Tran completed with 14,290 votes (30.45%) by the 5 p.m. deadline Wednesday to edge Alhambra soccer participant Isabella Balough, who had 13,309 votes (28.36%) to position second.

Granada soccer player Jordan Knight took third.

Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.

Tran led Evergreen Valley to its very first Central Coast Part ladies wrestling title with four initially-period pins.

The junior wrapped up the 106-pound excess weight division title by pinning her opponent 27 seconds into the championship match.
