Players returning to participate in their former groups is very little new in the important leagues.

But there have been couple of examples as extremely expected, unabashedly commemorated or emotionally uncooked as what Freeman took part in last weekend, showcasing everything from a World Collection ring ceremony Friday to very long ovations (and occasional boos) ahead of his at-bats.

“I’m emotionally drained,” Freeman claimed afterward.

The proceedings weren’t dropped on his new teammates, both.

Right after Friday’s match, Trea Turner observed the incredible nature of the scene, when Freeman fought back tears for the duration of a stadium deal with.

“Moments like this are special,” Turner explained. “You don’t seriously see moments like this all the time. We really like Freddie here. We want to have his back again and be out there for him in circumstances like that.”

Chris Taylor echoed very similar sentiments.

“The crowd welcoming him with open up arms, viewing that was very good to see,” Taylor mentioned. “He’s carried out so a lot for this organization. So it is superior to see them appreciate what he’s done.”

There was speculation as to how the reception was remaining considered by the Dodgers clubhouse.

Clayton Kershaw told the Atlanta Journal Structure the ceremony for Freeman was a “very cool” minute but included: “He’s naturally been a large contributor for our team. And I hope we’re not second fiddle. It is a pretty unique workforce around in this article, too. I assume any time he will get comfy above in this article, he’ll actually appreciate it.”

Kershaw declined to elaborate, reiterating only that Freeman’s reception experienced been “very elegant.”

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts was also requested about how Freeman’s homecoming had been acquired by his new group.

“I assume I can discuss for most of our gamers — and hopefully all of them — which is a unique moment for him and his spouse and children,” Roberts explained. “To enjoy what a participant signifies, your teammate signifies to a specific city, that is a fantastic matter. I thought the Braves did a excellent work. I assumed Freddie’s emotion was straightforward.”

Questioned whether Freeman’s homecoming experienced turn out to be a distraction for the team, Roberts answered emphatically.

“Absolutely not,” he explained.

Instead, Roberts complimented the first baseman pursuing his four-for-12 effectiveness in the series.

“This is most likely as a great deal as he’s ever been examined, I feel, emotionally,” Roberts reported. “And he handed with flying hues.”
