Race motor vehicle driver Bobby East identified as sufferer of deadly stabbing in Westminster

Race auto driver Bobby East was fatally stabbed at a Westminster gasoline station Wednesday, and police later on killed the man suspected of attacking him, authorities explained.

On Friday, a SWAT group tried to choose Millsap into custody. According to the assertion, law enforcement shot Millsap after he “became confrontational with officers and a law enforcement K-9 was deployed.” Millsap, who was on parole for armed theft, later died, the statement reported.

On Friday, the United States Automobile Club, which operates the racing sequence in which East competed, introduced his demise, recognizing the three-time USAC Countrywide Winner driver who participated in USAC silver crown and midget races.

East was born in Torrance and grew up in Indiana, his father, Bob East, explained in an interview Saturday. A USAC Corridor of Fame car or truck builder, East’s father claimed the relatives relocated to Indiana where he worked in the racing enterprise, and East became concerned in racing.

East began racing when he was about 9 yrs aged and experienced racked up numerous wins by the time he was a teenager, his father stated.

“He just desired to make a living at it,” Bob East claimed. “Not many people get to make a residing accomplishing what they adore to do.”

In all, East claimed 56 occupation victories in USAC races, 48 of them in nationwide divisions, the club explained. In a publish-up about East, the club named him “one of the most prolific motorists of his period.”

On social media, racing fans mourned his decline.

“I have the best recollections of performing with Bobby East,” someone else wrote, sharing a photo of a smiling East on-line. “In an open up wheel auto, there was no one particular better.”
