Liberal speakers dominate commencements at major-rated universities: Report

Special — Only a few of the prime 100 ranked universities in the nation will be hosting a large-profile conservative speaker for their 2022 commencement addresses, according to a report by the Youthful America’s Foundation, a conservative youth organization.

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin and former school football star Tim Tebow will be the only notable American conservatives slated to produce graduation addresses at any of the U.S. News and Earth Report’s major 100 universities. Youngkin is slated to handle graduates at Virginia Tech University, and Tebow is established to discuss to the course of 2022 at his alma mater, the College of Florida.

The only other school that has invited a conservative speaker to its commencement is Boston Higher education, which will welcome Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to its 2022 graduation festivities.


In contrast, in accordance to the foundation’s report, 53 leading-rated schools will host liberal speakers. The remaining educational institutions both do not have an introduced speaker, have many ceremonies and hence various speakers, have selected a college administrator as their speaker, or will have a speaker whose politics could not be ascertained.

Liberal addressees include House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who will address graduates at Brown University, singer and songwriter Taylor Swift at New York College, U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, author and journalist Bob Woodward at Boston University, and Biden administration formal Samantha Electrical power, who will discuss at Johns Hopkins College.

President Joe Biden is himself scheduled to address graduates at his undergraduate alma mater, the University of Delaware.

In new years, conservative graduation speakers and even some liberal speakers have increasingly confronted protests when invited to address graduates.

In February, Vassar Faculty introduced former Obama administration Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson experienced withdrawn from offering the college’s graduation handle subsequent university student backlash.

In 2019, students at Taylor University in Indiana walked out all through a graduation tackle by then-Vice President Mike Pence, who also confronted walkouts during a 2017 commencement handle at the University of Notre Dame.
