Joe O’Dea, a Republican Senate candidate in Colorado, explained he does not want former President Donald Trump to run for president in 2024.
O’Dea, a centrist whom Democrats hoped would drop to 2020 election denier state Rep. Ron Hanks in the June 28 key contest, expressed his want for Trump not to operate for a next phrase, suggesting that other candidates are improved match to direct the GOP ticket in the 2024 election.

“As far as Trump’s anxious, I hope he does not operate. I do not want to see him as president once again. We have obtained a whole lot of good candidates — Ron DeSantis, Tim Scott, Nikki Haley — there’s a great deal of wonderful expertise out there,” O’Dea stated Friday on Denver radio system The Ross Kaminsky Demonstrate.
But O’Dea also will not want President Joe Biden to run for a second phrase, contacting him “senile.”
“Look, I never consider Biden ought to operate for president, and he’s senile. We’re completed with that. He is the worst president we’ve at any time had,” O’Dea claimed.
A Trump-Biden 2024 rematch would “rip our nation apart,” the Republican reported, adding, “I assume a good deal of folks are all set to go our place forward, so I would not assist him running once more.”
Recent polls have indicated that most voters do not want either Trump or Biden jogging in 2024, with some Democrats publicly indicating they do not feel Biden will run for reelection.
O’Dea, who defeated the extra Trump-aligned Hanks for the GOP nomination, is on the lookout to unseat incumbent Sen. Michael Bennet (D) in the normal election in November. RealClearPolitics has rated the race among O’Dea and Bennet as “lean Democratic.”
