Recipients of Supplemental Security Income will receive the first of March’s two payments in only three days, according to the Social Security Administration’s schedule.

The first payment is scheduled to be sent out on March 1 and will be worth $914. Recipients will then receive a second payment of the same amount on March 31, equaling a total of $1,828 for the month of March.

Eligible couples will also receive two payments on March 1 and 31. Their payments will be worth $1,371. Essential people, who live with those on SSI and provide necessary care, will receive two payments of $458 in March, according to the SSA.

The SSA usually gives SSI recipients one payment on the first day of the month. However, if the first of a month falls on a weekend or holiday, then the administration sends out the check on the last business day of the prior month.

Outside of March, these types of double payments will also occur in three other months of 2023: June, September, and December. The first day of July and October falls on a weekend, while Jan. 1 is always a holiday, New Year’s Day.

The check amount is adjusted every year in order to keep up with the cost of living and inflation. In 2022, the monthly SSI amount was worth $841, according to the SSI.
