Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau mentioned on Friday that he was pleased his latest ban on the usage of Chinese language-owned social media app TikTok from government-issued units meant his kids may not entry the platform.
Talking at a joint information convention with U.S. President Joe Biden in Ottawa, Trudeau mentioned: “Our considerations round TikTok are round safety and entry to data that the Chinese language authorities may must authorities telephones. It is only a private aspect profit that my youngsters cannot use TikTok anymore.”
Trudeau, 51, has three kids, two of whom are youngsters. His authorities introduced its ban final month, saying the platform has an “unacceptable” threat to privateness and safety.
