Cancel culture’s latest target: NFL announcer and previous experienced football player Troy Aikman.

“I hope that the competitors committee appears to be like at this for the duration of the set of meetings and we acquire the dresses off,” the announcer reported immediately after a connect with all through the Kansas Metropolis Chiefs/Las Vegas Raiders activity Monday night.


Aikman, who is an announcer on ESPN’s Monday Night time Soccer, was the No. 1 over-all pick in the 1989 draft, joining the Dallas Cowboys. Social media immediately jumped on the remark, calling out the announcer for becoming “misogynistic.”

“The levels of competition committee ‘needs to take the attire off’?? Are not we previous using items involved with women of all ages as a pejorative? C’mon, Troy Aikman,” tweeted Paola Boivin, the first woman journalist to be named to the Arizona Athletics Hall of Fame.

“Troy Aikman seriously wants to come across a non-misogynistic way to critique the call aside from ‘take the attire off’. And I say this as another person who heard this misogyny normalized by coaches as a child & even participated myself. Way earlier time to conclude such sporting activities discuss,” included sportswriter Chuck Modi.

“Troy Aikman mentioned f*** the 2022 social weather and informed competitiveness committee to “choose off the attire” reside on air, re: roughing the passer calls,” said fantasy football editor Chris Raybon.

“Hey @espn are you interesting with Aikman getting a mysoginistic and homophobic pig on #MNF ? What a stupid comment, Troy,” a person person tweeted.

ESPN did not respond to the Washington Examiner’s ask for for comment.
